Donate to The London Library
The London Library is independently funded and philanthropy has always played a central role in ensuring it continues to inspire writers, readers and thinkers.
Please consider making a donation today and help us to continue inspiring generations of writers, readers and thinkers. There are a variety of different ways in which your support, whatever its size, can make a real and important difference.
You can support the Library by donating to one of our areas of work below:
Our collection
Each year we add around 6,000 new books to the collection and conserve over 5,000 books, many of which have become too delicate to handle. By supporting us with a donation towards our collection work you’ll help ensure we maintain, care for, catalogue and expand our world-class collection, including unrivalled eResources.
Widening access
We run a range of programmes to ensure the Library is accessible to as many people as possible. Donate to our outreach work and help us to widen access by funding Supported Memberships, State Schools membership and the Library’s unique Emerging Writers' Programme supporting unpublished writers at the start of their careers.
You can also support the Library by:
Becoming a London Library Patron and support all our work, and enjoy special events and behind the scenes access to Library experts and the collection.
Leaving the Library a gift in your will to secure our future and ensure The London Library is here for the next 180 years and beyond.
If you are a US tax payer you can support our work through the International Friends of The London Library, a registered 501 (c) 3 charitable corporation, so your donations are fully deductible under the US Internal Revenue Code. The Library is also a member of Transnational Giving Europe (TGE), who facilitate tax-efficient cross-border giving within Europe.
